Florida bankruptcy courts were narrowly missed by one local business this summer. TutoringZone offers academic assistance around the state, but the 15 year old business has recently suffered some trouble in operations that threatened to bring down the financials.
TutoringZone was started in 1997 by Matt Hintze and a business partner. Providing educational courses, tutoring help and study aids, the company is a popular resource for students and Florida universities. Although business was booming, a recent split among business partners brought a very real threat to the end of operations.
The original business nearly sank during all of the controversy and arguments between partners over the summer, but was able to restructure without the need for bankruptcy. Now with new ownership, Hintze is now an employee of TutoringZone and he reports that business is better than ever. There are plans to grow current operation at Florida State and Indiana universities, as well as expanding their services to include a better variety of study guides for college courses.
